I may have, as it turns out, gone and made myself a pretty wicked little seax/bowie/fighting knife from a railroad spike. I did one kind of like this last year, but it wasn’t nearly as good.
*Hyperventilates* Tumblr Staff! Stop reminding of my repeated failures in childhood. I have tried so hard to forget the agonies of river crossings ending in soggy misery, again…and again… and again… Now here they are back to haunt and taught me in gif form! Tumblr Staff! Why?!

Now I understand that Falconia is more appealing than Hawkville but in other regards to this decision:
I’ve been wondering about this. It’s good to have a better idea as to that shift. I agree with ob-nox-ygen they’ll always be the Band of the Hawk to me.
Marshmallows exist because of sore throats. For centuries, juice from the marsh mallow plant has been used for pain relief. In the 1800s, it was mixed with egg whites and sugar for children with sore throats. The recipe was so tasty that people made it as a treat called ‘marshmallow.’ Source
If you thought comics were a modern invention, think again! The top image of c. 1300 shows a drawing that has the ingredients of a modern comic book drawing, including the fact that the text is placed in real speech bubbles: the words (which are in English!) are connected to the speaker’s mouth by means of a tiny line.
