Jellyfish Lake in Palau. Apparently the jellies have lost their ability to sting because of lack of predators in the lake and you can swim with them!
BUCKET LIST.
WAIT BUT THAT’S NOT EVEN THE COOLEST PART: These jellyfish carry small populations of algae inside their bodies and derive much of their nutrition from the sugars that the algae produce. The jellyfish follow the sun across the lake each day and rotate continuously, so that the algae are always getting maximum sunlight exposure for photosynthesis. Then at night they dive to deeper parts of the lake so the algae can absorb nitrogen. It’s one of the best examples of endosymbiosis in action and it’s KICKASS.

Inocybe
Inocybe is a minor sidhe lady of the Mushroom Clan, and is Khrysenteron’s (see day 19) sister. As far as temperament goes, the two could not be more different. Unlike her brother, Inocybe is warm, inviting, motherly, hospitable, and even at times downright flirtatious. (This is not to say that you should ever make her angry— an angry faerie is a terrifying thing to behold.) However, those familiar with the fae know that this is also dangerous, and in ways far more insidious than Khrys’s jerk-face behavior. It is far, far too easy to get yourself permanently beholden to the fae by simply accepting their hospitality, eating their food, or letting them do you a favor.
Furthermore, Inocybe’s friendly kindness is dangerous for another reason— she firmly believes that all of the various problems and woes of the mortal races would be solved and all of them would be made happy if they all simply submitted to being faerie thralls. She believes the proof of this is evident in her human pet, Morganella (tomorrow’s portrait), whom she raised from toddlerhood. In fact, she’d very much like to set up Asher and Morganella as a mated pair, so that they might produce a regular supply of human children, all of whom would be born, grow up, and live their lives never knowing hardship, suffering, or disappointment… nor freedom, choice, or a sense of worth. To Inocybe, why bother with all of that hard stuff when you can have the indolent, constant pleasures of faerie glamour, never having to think for yourself?
Absolutely love the colors on this lovely elven lady :D.

They had 6 wings, covered with eyes on the wings. And had two eyes on their face, but used 2 wings to cover their face at all times because if a mortal ever saw their face they would die.
The bible mentions multiple faces, being covered in eyeballs, constant singing, lion heads etc.
Besides being described as beasts and monsters, they’re practically brainless drones. Heavenly angels are only one step removed from demons. The only difference is demons fell from heaven because they chose to follow Lucifer, who was an angel (angel of music and one of god’s favorites). So they are these eyeball covered animal mashed up monsters who were only created to worship for eternity (part of humanities creation was so that something would choose to love god, not just worship him because they were created to).
Angels fall into a lot of new age and conspiracy beliefs.We were taught that the supernatural realms went in the order of Heaven, Hell, then Earth. So when the angels fell from heaven with Lucifer, some fell through hell and landed on Earth. We were taught they intermarried with early humans and created giants and taught witch craft to women.
They’re abominations, they’re alien, they’re beyond us. They’re creatures that biology as we know it does not apply to. Often they do not love mankind, they love God and God alone.
I want one of these for a Christmas tree topper. Not even joking.

So what you’re saying is that Phantom of the Opera is really about Mankind (worldly, wealthy, handsome) and God (reclusive, powerful, jealous) fighting for the affections of Lucifer (the angel of music).
