Hello Tumblr, Hayley here. I really enjoy Tumblr, but I’ve been thinking that I want to have more content to my Tumblr, more things I made, along with all the usual nifty stuff I reblog. To that end, I think I’m going to try and post poems, art, and writing excerpts that I’ve done here on Tumblr.
Kicking that off here’s a poem I wrote way back in 2002. It’s free verse… I think *head tilt* I’ve never been clear on those distinctions and has a romantic and remembering or longing theme to it, you will probably notice a pattern of it.
He and I
He and I, I and he, wish we could
go back to where we could begin
again. Fresh and new, departing
any sin!
He and I we are stones skipped
along life’s still lake. From
childhood to adulthood we grow
oh how time does assail us, he
and I one by one. Yet no strain
is this, nor a worry should it be.
Forever it will be he and I
together in love’s day of eternity.
