Oh my gosh Holly this is lovely lovely work, very in character and—just heart squeezey. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a couple this much and I haven’t found much fan fiction for them, so it’s really nice to find some fantastic fanfic for them. One just really has to vent those Guts + Casca feelings sometimes. ^_^
I’m really tempted to write some Guts/Casca pieces myself. I’m not familiar with writing fan fiction, I’m always afraid I’ll portay characters out of character, or that I can’t do it justice. On the other hand I just want more Guts and Casca material so badly, because they make me feel so strongly that I should make some.
Hayley ^_^
I can’t wait for Elfhelm, arrrgh. Hopefully this thing’ll still be able to fit in with canon by the time we get there. If not, whatever. I just need to vent some Guts/Casca feelings.
Longest thing I’ve written so far, too.
Casca’s POV this time.
———
All she needed was space. The chaos of the last few days had been overwhelming. They didn’t understand, those people. They couldn’t. It might as well have been just last night that absolute terror had gripped her heart, and now she was thrust upon some foreign land with foreign realities and foreign people who were too eager to meet her. It was too much.
At last, she had found it. Casca had come across a solitary little beach, surrounded by crags. She had placed her shoes, unfamiliar shoes, closer inland and sat down on the shore. Time became an illusion as she simply waited, alone except for the tumbling sea and circling gulls.
Heavy footsteps behind her snapped Casca out of her trance. She turned to look at her visitor: the only recognizable face in this strange new world.
